Harp & Violin Duo, Duo Deca

https://www.musicnewjersey.com

The versatility of this duo is impressive.  Their music ranges from the very traditional sound of Classical Music(performed on an electric violin and an electric harp) to today's pop classics.  They are the perfect addition to your cocktail party and will add that special touch of elegance to engagement parties, bridal showers, christenings or your other special celebrations.

About Emily, Violinist:
Emily is an active freelancer in New York, having performed and/or recorded with many renowned artists, including The Who, Louis Tomlinson (One Direction), Chairlift, Lady Lamb, Yungblud, and Snakehips. She has toured the US with hip-hop legend Kurtis Blow, and was the featured soloist in the touring production INDIA (by Franco Dragone of Cirque du Soleil).

Emily was recently featured as a vocalist on Lorenzo Wolff's Down Where the Valleys are Low: Another Otherworld for Judee Sill, where her performance of The Kiss was described as “ resemb(ling) an angel ascending into heaven" by KST 89.9.

Under the moniker Emily Simone, Emily maintains a busy schedule performing on electric violin for high-end and nightlife events, improvising with DJ’s over bumping dance music and creating more subtle ambient, immersive soundscapes.

Since 2013, Emily has worked extensively with Kansas City-based interdisciplinary performance company Quixotic, creating and performing original material for events and concerts around the world.

"Godfather Theme", Electric Violinist, NY, NJ, CT, Wedding Ceremony Music,

The Godfather on the Electric Violin

"Speak Softly Love"

"Speak Softly Love" is more commonly known as the theme from the movie, "The Godfather." Our Julliard trained violinist, Susan, plays it in this video-clip. Susan has an extensive repertoire of songs. She plays the classical and liturgical pieces that are suitable for a wedding ceremony and she also performs modern tunes.

We like to highlight her versatility, because she is the perfect choice for a wedding ceremony, a cocktail party, or the cocktail hour of a wedding reception.

Susan performs on electric violin(as you see here) or an acoustic violin(your choice). We love the sound of an electric violin, because you can get some of the same elements that one would hear from a rock guitar.

Speak Softly Love (Love Theme from The Godfather)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Composed by Larry Kusic and Nino Rota.

"Speak Softly Love (Love Theme from The Godfather)" is a song written for The Godfather (1972), the first film in The Godfather trilogy. While its instrumental version is simply known as "The Godfather Love Theme", "Speak Softly Love" is the vocal version.
The words are by Larry Kusik but the music itself is by Nino Rota. The signature musical theme that opens the piece closely models a theme that appears early in "Preludio - Povero Ernesto!" in the opera Don Pasquale by Gaetano Donizetti (1797-1848). A similar melody also appears in the Overture to "La Forza del Destino" by Giuseppe Verdi (1813-1901). There are also different sets of lyrics for the song in Italian ("Parla Più Piano"), French ("Parle Plus Bas") and also in Sicilian ("Brucia La Terra"). The Sicilian version is sung by Anthony Corleone (Franc D'Ambrosio) in The Godfather Part III.
Rota had used a more comedic version of the song for the 1958 film Fortunella. When this was discovered, Rota's score for The Godfather was disqualified from consideration at the 1973 Academy Awards; it had been nominated for Best Original Score. However, Rota's score for The Godfather Part II won the 1974 Academy Award for Best Score, despite containing the same piece.

From Wikipedia
"Fly Me to the Moon" is a popular standard song written by Bart Howard in 1954. It was originally titled "In Other Words", and was introduced by Felicia Sanders in cabarets. The song became known popularly as "Fly Me to the Moon" from the first line of the B verse, and after a few years the publishers officially changed the title.

Classical Music for NY/NJ/CT wedding ceremony, cocktail hour, private parties!

Csardas, Piano and Violin Duo:
Susan(violin) and David(piano) are playing Csardas by Vittorio Monti(1868-1922). Csardas was composed in 1904.

We must apologize for the poor sound on this video clip.  This was shot at a country club in New Jersey; they were celebrating their grand re-opening.  The club had just had major renovations, so this was the first time the members had a chance to experience their new clubhouse.  It was very exciting, and the new look  is absolutely gorgeous!

We had a variety of music in different rooms.  This was our classical duo.  We also had a steel drummer in one room, a singing kee-jay, and a solo singer/guitarist in the fourth room.  It truly was a wonderful evening for all involved.  We are in the process of going over the video we taped...it's a slow process, but we will be releasing the all the video-clips within this month.
